BIOGRAPHY

Beth Slevcove

Beth is a second-generation youth worker, former school teacher, and co-owner of a small business with her husband, Joe. She serves as the spiritual director for YS and coordinates Soul Care offerings at YS Conventions. She leads retreats, has trained and taught the art of spiritual direction for Christian Formation and Direction Ministries, and Bethel Seminary, San Diego.

This time will be set aside to participate in the lost spiritual practices of confession, repentance, and mourning. Spiritual directors and pastors will be available to hear your confession and pray with you. Or you can bring along a friend and practice confession with each other. There will be a time of corporate confession, as well as private time. There will also be a Wailing Wall to provide an environment for mourning losses, confessing sins, and offering the cries of our hearts before the Lord.

What could be more countercultural than following our Savior through his journey of betrayal, rejection, powerlessness, forced letting go, humiliation, loneliness, loss, neediness, brokenness, and death. This is not the victorious Jesus found in so much of our books, sermons, and art. Yet, this is the journey that allows us to know that our own brokenness and pain, and that of our world, is being transformed through the suffering and risen body of Jesus. Engage in this pilgrimage and discover the power of the suffering and victorious Christ.
